Whether it’s allowing extra time for walks, assisting with mobility, accommodating dietary requirements, or providing additional rest, our priority is keeping senior pets comfortable, safe, and well cared for in the familiarity of their own home.
Understanding Their Needs Through Personal Experience
At Cherish Pet Services, our understanding of pets with medical and mobility challenges extends beyond the services we provide. We’ve experienced firsthand the dedication, patience, and adjustments required when caring for a pet with significant physical limitations.
I continue to care for my own dog with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), who experienced nearly two years of paralysis and required a wheelchair. Although he has regained the ability to walk, his ongoing care includes stretching exercises, massage, and red light therapy to support his mobility and comfort.
This experience also carries over into the care we provide for our clients. We’ve assisted a client whose dog also lives with IVDD, including transportation to and from necessary veterinary appointments and support with his individual care needs and was recently fitted with his own wheelchair for mobility.
These experiences reinforce our commitment to providing knowledgeable, attentive, and individualized care for pets facing medical challenges or physical limitations.
